Two brands team together to offer a campaign that combines the fun of a road trip, pub trivia and all the feels by donating to charity.
Kelsey's Original Roadhouse along with Ketel One Vodka launched a Route 78 drink to not only celebrate brand heritage and adventure, two important pillars for the Kelsey's brand, but also in benefit of Food Banks Canada. With every purchase of any Ketel One Vodka cocktail at Kelsey's Original Roadhouse across Canada, the equivalent of one meal was donated to the Food Banks.
Kelsey's wanted to pique the interests of their customers with this and go further than a simple tabletop, they wanted to create an experience for their clients, one that would surprise and delight them. The challenge was to get patrons engaged with the drink offering that co-brands Kelsey's and Ketel One Vodka but also entertains and informs them about the charitable aspect of the purchase.
The core of what Kelsey's is – is a roadhouse founded on the idea of road trips. First Descent AR took that essence of the brand and helped create an Augmented Reality Road Trip. Users scan the QR code on their table talker and drop a map down onto the surface of their table. A vintage VW van appears, and the users are taken on a trivia journey with questions that re-enforce both the Kelsey's brand and Ketel One’s history.
Telling a brand story, while entertaining customers in-restaurant and occupying time while they wait for their food orders is a win-win-win.
